'Across the Moat' Original linocut print (brick orange colour)

A beautiful hand carved and hand printed linocut specially commissioned by the National Trust.

Marking 100 years of National Trust care, this special artwork commemorates the moment Tattershall Castle officially passed into Trust ownership on 6th March 1926, fulfilling Lord Curzon's vision for preserving the site for future generations.

Inspiration

Tattershall Castle's unique harmony between heritage and wildlife inspired my linocut design.

I spent time sketching and observing the moat, grounds and resident wildlife.  Members of the team shared their wildlife stories and knowledge with me which deepened my understanding of the site's importance.

My linocut features dragonflies, great crested newt, Egyptian geese, bees, swans and bats alongside oak trees, reed mace and viper's bugloss.  All framed by the majestic Great Tower.  Subtle references to the area's Battle of Britain history enrich the composition.

Hand Printed Edition

One of the linocut open edition of 'Across the Moat' has become part of Tattershall Castle's collection. 

Printed entirely by hand on Somerset cotton paper, each titled and signed piece offers a beautiful, lasting tribute to this teasured landscape.

An original, hand-burnished linocut print on Somerset cotton paper 160gsm.

• Available in three colours - teal, brick orange, fresh green (I use professional oil based printing ink, mix my own colours and print in small numbers.  Please remember, there may be slight colour differences when viewed on screen)

• Linocut size 21 x 21 cm

• Mounted to fit a 30 x 30 cm frame

• Each linocut print is mounted with a conservation quality mount, backed with acid free paper, wrapped in a clear protective sleeve and includes a certificate of authenticity.

From every sale of 'Across the Moat' a donation will be made to the National Trust.

I currently only sell to the UK.  The price includes free tracked and insured postage to any UK address.
